A사 엔지니어들과 만나서 이야기할 때와 B사의 엔지니어들이 사용하는 용어가 다른 경우도 많습니다. 그렇다고 미국에서 시작된 용어가 맞는가 하는 것도 장담 못하지요. 예를 들어 '크로마 버그'만 해도 이것을 처음 발견한 평론가 Stacy Spears가 사용한 말이 고착된 것이고, 정식 이름은 크로마 업샘플링 에러라고 규정되었지요. LED 제품의 Local Dimming으로 발생하는 현상이 halo인가, blooming인가...이것도 그렇고요. 다 맞다고 할 수 있고 뜻도 통하는데...또 그 용어가 정식이냐 하면 그것도 아닙니다. 말로 대화할 때는 문제가 없는데, 리뷰 같은데 글로 쓸 때는 꼬뚜리 잡힐까봐 신경쓰입니다.
